Our Commitment
FILTALK is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We believe that technology should be usable by everyone, regardless of ability, and we continuously work to improve the accessibility of our platform.
Accessibility Features
FILTALK includes the following accessibility features:
Keyboard Navigation
- All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard (Tab, Enter, Escape, Arrow keys).
- Skip navigation links allow keyboard users to bypass repetitive navigation.
- Focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements with a 3px blue outline.
- Dropdown menus can be opened, navigated, and closed using keyboard alone.
Screen Reader Support
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy (h1 → h2 → h3).
- ARIA landmarks identify page regions (banner, navigation, main, contentinfo).
- Form inputs have associated labels and aria-describedby for help text.
- Error messages are announced using aria-live="assertive" regions.
- Status messages use aria-live="polite" for non-intrusive announcements.
- Decorative images use aria-hidden="true" to avoid redundant announcements.
Visual Accessibility
- Color contrast ratios meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards for normal and large text.
- Information is not conveyed by color alone — icons and text labels provide context.
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Responsive design adapts to different screen sizes and zoom levels.
Motion and Animation
- Respects the
prefers-reduced-motionCSS media query. - Users who prefer reduced motion will see minimal animations.
- No content flashes more than three times per second.
Forms and Input
- All form fields have visible labels.
- Required fields are marked with both visual indicators and aria-required.
- Error messages identify the specific field and describe the error.
- Form validation errors are announced to screen readers.
- Success and status messages are announced via aria-live regions.
Audio Content
- Audio lessons include controls for play, pause, and volume.
- Transcripts are provided for audio content where available.
- Audio does not autoplay.
Known Limitations
